In the summer of 2013, SPCA Tampa Bay held its 10th annual Bowl-A-Thon to benefit the area’s in-need animals. The SPCA Bowl-A-Thon featured a three-game tournament as well as a full dinner buffet and fun drink specials. The event also featured the 3K Pet Walk kickoff party. It was the 23rd straight year for the popular charity walk. In the past, the SPCA 3K Pet Walk has raised more than $200,000 for homeless animals. A number of additional activities also took place at the Bowl-A-Thon, including Christmas in July. Bowl-A-Thon guests were encouraged to participate in a middle-of-the-year toy drive for that part of the event.
